Punnichy man in court on charges stemming from report of a disturbance at a Regina restaurant

Regina police charged a Punnichy man after a report of a disturbance at a restaurant yesterday evening (Thurs).

Around 6:14 p.m. police were dispatched to a restaurant on the 42-hundred block of Dewdney Avenue, where a man was allegedly smoking inside the establishment, throwing rocks at vehicles, and pointing a knife at staff.

When the suspect would not cooperate with police and turned away, a police dog was involved in the arrest.

20-year-old Nakayle Riddel is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and breach of probation, and appeared in Regina Court today (Fri).
