Trial date set for accused in December 2021 shooting on Muskowekwan First Nation

A Muskowekwan First Nation man, charged in connection with a shooting on the reserve, will stand trial early next year.

35-year-old Donovan Oochoo appeared in Regina Court of King’s Bench yesterday (THURS), where his trial by judge was set for January 15, 2024, though his next pretrial appearance will be on March 15th.

Punnichy RCMP say that on December 12, 2021, two men got into an argument at a home, and one was shot by the other.

The victim was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
