New court date for OCN man charged in September drug bust; Co-accused off the hook

Another court appearance has been made by an Opaskwayak Cree Nation man, charged in connection with a September drug bust on the reserve.

52-year-old Leo McGinnis remains in custody, and will be back in The Pas Court on February 17th, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and several firearm offences.

Meanwhile, the charge against his co-accused, 28-year-old Beatrice McLaughlin, of OCN, was stayed by the Crown on January 3rd.

On September 27th, The Pas RCMP and the Manitoba First Nations Police Service executed a search warrant at a home on Cowley Avenue, where 225 grams of cocaine and a pellet gun were seized.
