Punnichy man makes first court appearance following disturbance at Regina restaurant

A 20-year-old Punnichy man will be back in Regina Provincial Court on Wednesday (Jan. 25), accused of causing a disturbance at a Regina restaurant last week.

On Thursday night (Jan. 19), police were dispatched to a restaurant on Dewdney Avenue, where a man was allegedly smoking inside the establishment, throwing rocks at vehicles, and pointing a knife at staff.

The police dog was used in the arrest, after the suspect would not cooperate with police.

Nakayle Riddel remains in custody after making his first appearance on Friday (Jan. 20), on three counts, including Uttering Threats and a weapon charge.
