A 5 goal second lead Stampeders to Tuesday road win in OCN


The Swan Valley Stampeders used a 5 goal 2nd period then hung on late to beat the OCN Blizzard 7-4 on the road.

Alex Walicki continued in his hot pace with 1G 2A to lead the way for the Stamps, who got singles from Steven Arp, Trey Sauder, Josh Danis, Myles Mason, Jakob Jones and Justin Keck.

Riley Zimmerman, Alex Bernauer, Darik Feasey and Ashton Paul replied for the Blizzard.

Kobe Grant turned aside 34 of 38 shots to earn the win for the Stamps’ while Chase Hamm made 23 saves in the loss.

The Stampeders’ who moved into a tie atop of the MJHL’s West division with the win will return to action on the road this Saturday visiting the Winnipeg Blues.

Elsewhere,

Tresor Wotton made 25 saves for the shutout to lead the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to a 3-0 win over the Winnipeg Freeze on home ice.

Carson Baptiste, Leyton Smith, and Kurt Rookes chipped in offensively for the Freeze.

The Wolverines’ return to action on Thursday night hosting the Niverville Nighthawks starting at 7:30PM.
