Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation man accused of carrying sword pleads guilty

A guilty plea has been entered by a Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation man, accused of carrying a concealed weapon in Swan River.

44-year-old John Campeau was in Dauphin Court yesterday (Tue), where he was sentenced to 107 days in jail, after being given credit for time already served.

In July of 2021, Mounties received a report of a suspicious male, and they located him near 11th Avenue South with a large sword under his coat.

A foot pursuit took place, and when making the arrest, one of the officers suffered a broken bone.
