Melville’s Utility Budget completed

A part of the budget process has been completed in Melville.

Mayor Walter Streelasky says that the utility budget has been completed.

The utility rates are increasing by 7.2-percent this year, which averages out to approximately 10 dollars a month. The utility rates include water, garbage pickup, recycling, sewer, and infrastructure replacement.

Streelasky notes YPUB rates are going up this year; YPUB is a water line that covers Melville, parts of Yorkton, Canora, and Good Spirit Lake. YPUB rates are also going up to $5.4143 on March 4, then increasing again to $5.5226 on April 1.
