A new month means a new Traffic Safety Focus, which is now on slowing down.

With Valentine’s Day this year in the middle of the month, SGI is tying the message of slowing down with the occasion.

Media Relations Manager Tyler McMurchy encourages people to show love for their vehicle by easing off the gas pedal.

He says slowing down will increase the quality time you spend together and reduce wear and tear on your engine.

McMurchy also says by slowing down, you lower the chances of getting into a collision and avoid an expensive speeding ticket.
