The RCMP will be celebrating their 150th year anniversary with several celebrations and events going on throughout the year.
The first thing to look forward to is the Regina Frost Festival which kick off tomorrow (Fri).
The RCMP will put on the opening ceremonies of the festival, as well as face off against youth on the hockey rink they’re making in front of the Heritage Centre.
Tara Robinson, the CEO of the Heritage Centre, says later on in March the Centre will be opening new exhibits, in May there will be several RCMP days to look forward to, and the RCMP hope to host many summer celebrations, which may include tours of the training academy.
On top of that, over 4000 Canadian students will get the opportunity to take part in year-round virtual programs with the officers.
Students will watch RCMP members do their jobs in unusual geographical locations and talk to officers that are taking on interesting roles around the country.
