Saskatchewan’s FCAA issues investment alert for online entity eTrade Markets

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) is warning investors of an online entity called eTrade Markets.

The FCAA says eTrade Markets claims to offer residents an opportunity to invest in a variety of products through its online website, however, they’re not registered in Saskatchewan.

Individuals or companies need to be registered with the FCAA in order to trade or sell securities or derivatives in the province.

The Authority urges people to verify that the person or company is registered, and the easiest way to do that, is going to the Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Registration Search engine, through the FCAA website.

If you invested with eTrade Markets or anyone claiming to be acting on their behalf, contact the FCAA’s Securities Division at 306-787-5936.
