New court date set for Edmonton man charged in illegal tobacco bust in Whitewood

An Edmonton man charged in connection with the seizure of illegal tobacco products in Whitewood, has made his first court appearance.

64-year-old Matthew Wright was in Broadview yesterday (WED), where his matters were adjourned to March 22nd.

On December 20th, a Highway Patrol Officer pulled over a commercial vehicle hauling a trailer, for inspection.

A subsequent search led to the seizure of the vehicle, which contained almost 29 thousand illegal cigars, and 6-point-6 million illegal cigarettes.
