Saskatchewan RCMP hold 3-day recruiting session for Indigenous applicants

Several Indigenous people in Saskatchewan attended a three day recruiting session held by the Saskatchewan RCMP.

36 individuals of Indigenous descent, from as far north as Stony Rapids to the southwest of Maple Creek, travelled to Regina to work on the initial stages of their RCMP officer application.

Over the three days, the applicants got a chance to get a first taste of what it’s like to be an RCMP cadet, and to tour the RCMP’s training academy.

New Indigenous RCMP officers will bring valuable perspectives and understandings of their cultures, and in turn, will help enhance policing within Saskatchewan.
