Extreme cold warning up for a few areas of northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba

An Arctic ridge of high pressure is settling into the northern parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

An Extreme Cold Warning remains for Hudson Bay, Porcupine Plain, and The Pas.

Temperatures in the minus 30s, combined with 10 to 15 kilometre an hour winds, will send wind chills to near minus 40.

The extreme cold warnings will likely be expanded southward later today, and some relief will arrive on the weekend.
