Arrest warrant issued for Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation man, considered armed and dangerous

Virden RCMP issued an arrest warrant for a 32-year-old Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation man, who police consider armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Seril Mazawasicuna, from the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, is described as 6-foot 1, 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He is facing a total of 16 charges, including Assault with a weapon, Forcible confinement, Pointing a firearm, and Assault Causing bodily harm, stemming from an incident Friday night (Feb. 24), in which police allege the victim was held against their will by a male suspect at a home on the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation. Police located the victim, who was reportedly injured, but the suspect fled prior to police arriving.

RCMP believe Mazawasicuna is in possession of firearms and is actively evading police.
