2022 was the 11th year the Yorkton Business Improvement District ran their Clean Sweep program and it was the first year that SaskAbilities was involved.

Three to five workers were employed during the winter months to help clear snow from the sidewalks in the downtown core, and YBID provided 6-thousand dollars to SaskAbilities for their services.

Senior Supervisor of Partners and Employment at SaskAbilities, Brittany Garbutt, notes that the initiative was well received, allowing clients of SaskAbilities to be employed directly by the city.

YBID has been running the Clean Sweep summer program since 2011 and the Clean Sweep winter program since 2020.
