Buhay’s Hat-Trick leads Millionaires to 5-4 road win over Estevan on Wednesday night

The Melville Millionaires snapped their 6 game slide on Wednesday night after 5-4 road win over the Estevan Bruins at Affinity Place.

The Millionaires got off to a quick start in the first with two goals just over 5 minutes in as Issac Suppin made it 1-0 before Tucker Buhay added to the lead with his 6th of the season just over 2 minutes later.

Both Suppin and Buhay got their 2nd goals of the period in the 2nd half of the first to give the visitors a 4-0 advantage after 1 period.

Kade Runke got the Bruins on the board early in the 2nd as he got it past Ethan Rau for his 7th of the season to cut their deficit to 3.

But at the 3:01 mark, just 30 seconds later Buhay completed his first career SJHL Hat-Trick sniping it past goaltender Cam Hrdlicka to push the Mils back up by four.

The Bruins continued their pressure though as 49 seconds later as Keagon Little made it 5-2 before Tim Tychonick went bar-down to make it a two goal Millionaire lead through 40 minutes.

In the 3rd, Ilya Chmelevski tallied the only goal of the game late with 3:31 to go sneaking it over top of Rau, but that’s as close as they would get.

Ethan Rau, on his 19th birthday turned aside 35 shots to earn his 3rd win of the season while Bruins’ starter Cam Hrdlicka made 10 saves on 14 shots & took the loss. Jackson Miller also seen time in the Estevan goal in relief and allowed 1 goal on 10 shots.

The Millionaires wrap up their season with a home and home series against the Notre Dame Hounds starting Saturday night in Melville, while the Bruins finish their regular season schedule on Saturday night visiting the Weyburn Red Wings.
