Virden RCMP arrested the third person charged in connection to an alleged assault on the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation.

32-year-old Seril Mazawasicuna, who is facing 16 charges, including Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm, has been taken into custody.

His co-accused, 34-year-old Tanya Hunter and 37-year-old Whitney Mazawasicuna, both of the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation were arrested and charged with three counts including Assault.

The charges stem from a February 24th report RCMP received of an assault on the reserve, where it’s alleged an injured person was held against their will.
