Saskatchewan’s merchandise exports grew in January 2023, compared to January 2022

Saskatchewan’s economy continues to grow, particularly in merchandise exports.

That according to the province, which reported that merchandise exports increased by 56.7-percent in January of 2023 compared to January of 2022, leading the nation.

Total merchandise exports in January of 2023 was valued at more than 4.6-billion dollars.

Electronic and electrical equipment, as well as aircraft and other transportation equipment lead year-over-year export growth with increases of 414.6-percent and 236.4-percent, respectively.

Statistics Canada continue to indicate strong job growth in province, with 16-thousand 400 new jobs compared to January of 2022, an increase of 2.9-percent.
