Half-a-dozen communities in the Parkland Region have a new doctor working there, thanks to the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment (SIPPA) program.
One doctor has been placed in Canora, Esterhazy, Fort Qu’Appelle, Kamsack, Melville, and Preeceville for a minimum of 3 years.
The province says 15 doctors completed the SIPPA program.
SIPPA medical director for the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine Dr. Jon Witt says the next phase for these doctors will include supervision by local physicians.
