New court date set for Edmonton man charged in illegal cigarette bust in Whitewood

A new court date has been set for an Edmonton man, arrested following the seizure of illegal tobacco products in Whitewood.

On December 20th, a Highway Patrol Officer pulled over a commercial vehicle hauling a trailer, for inspection.

A subsequent search led to the seizure of the vehicle, which contained almost 29 thousand illegal cigars, and 6-point-6 million illegal cigarettes.

64-year-old Matthew Wright had a court appearance in Broadview yesterday (Wed), where his matters were adjourned to May 3rd.
