The Swan Valley Stampeders have pushed the Dauphin Kings to the brink of elimination after a 3-2 double overtime road win on Friday night in Game 4.
The Stampeders for the 2nd straight game got the scoring as Adam Rajsigl’s (pictured above) wraparound beat Kings’ goalie Cole Sheffield five-hole for his 1st of the playoffs just 6:18 in to make it 1-0 through 1 period.
Shots through 20 minutes were 12-7 DAU.
Just 3:47 into the 2nd the Kings evened it 1-1 as Matthew Gough took a feed back-door and slid it home for his 3rd of the series.
The Stampeders though had a quick response as after a scrambly sequence from the Kings, Myles Mason grabbed a loose puck in front and his back-hand got over the left pad of Sheffield to restore the Stamps a 2-1 lead.
It would stay like that until late stages of the 2nd as Alex Senf led a nice rush up ice and then walked into the high slot and beat Kobe Grant over the left pad to provide the equalizer heading in the 2nd intermission.
Shots after 2 periods were 25-19 in favour of the Kings.
After a scoreless third and overtime period, Adam Rajsigl wrap-around beat a sprawled out Cole Sheffield just 2:18 into the fifth period to push the Stamps to victory.
Kobe Grant turned aside 35 of 37 shots in the Stampeders goal, while Kings’ G Cole Sheffield made 34 shots in the losing cause.
The Stampeders now have a chance to wrap up their first round series on Saturday night back at home for Game 5. GX94 will broadcast the game by joining the game in progress at around 8:00PM MB time after Kinsmen Radio Bingo.
