A program for 2023 is being launched by the Water Security Agency.
The Emergency Flood Reduction Program will help Saskatchewan communities and residents prevent damage from imminent risk of flooding.
The program was first launched in 2011, and it has been determined that each dollar invested in flood damage prevention saves a future 20 to 30 dollars in property damage.
500-thousand dollars is being invested in the program, which will provide financial, engineering and technical support to evaluate the potential flood risk to buildings and to identify options to mitigate the risk when flooding is imminent.
