Dauphin Arrest Five People After Shots Fired In The City

Five people are in custody following an incident in Dauphin early this morning.

Around 1:35 a.m., Mounties in an unmarked car were looking for a wanted 15-year-old boy that was believed to be in possession of a firearm.

While driving along Fifth Avenue Northeast, police saw the boy, along with a 19-year-old man leaving a residence, and when they spotted the police vehicle, the pair turned and ran the other way, and as police drew closer, Mounties say 15-year-old pulled out a gun and opened fire upon them, however no one was injured.

The two suspects then barricaded themselves in their home, and police surrounded the premises, before taking five people into custody without incident.

The suspects are in custody at this time, as police draft up a warrant to search the home.
