The Manitoba government celebrated a recycling milestone.

The province has recycled 1-million kilograms of batteries, in advance of Earth Day tomorrow.

In Manitoba, Call2Recycle has developed an extensive battery collection and recycling program, with 89-percent of Manitobans located within 15-kilometres of one of 280 drop-off locations.

In Budget of 2023, the province committed 8.7-million dollars for blue bin recycling, compost facilities and the management of household hazardous waste.
