Manitoba Increases Water Flows at Shellmouth Dam

Flows from the Shellmouth Reservoir have been increased to manage its level.

The Assiniboine River has peaked between the Shellmouth Dam and Virden, and is gradually rising downstream from Virden.

Outflow from the Shellmouth Dam will be increased to 800 cubic feet per second from 300 cubic feet per second.

The public is advised to take precautions as the rise in water levels may create unsafe conditions on the river and along the shoreline.
