Standing Buffalo First Nation Man Stands Trial For Attempted Murder

A change to the trial of a man charged following a serious assault on the Standing Buffalo First Nation.

24-year-old Christopher Maple of the Standing Buffalo First Nation, was committed to stand trial by jury in Regina Court of King’s Bench, but he has re-elected to be tried by judge alone, with the trial starting yesterday, and continuing today.

On June 22, 2021 Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP responded to a report of an injured woman at a home on the reserve.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
