The Province of Saskatchewan continues to increase its investment in programs to help out residents that receive income assistance benefits.
Effective May 1st, clients receiving the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) will receive an additional $30 per month in living income benefits, on top of benefits provided to cover clients’ utility costs, which is an average boost of $40 per month, for those paying water, gas and power bills.
In addition, retroactive to April, the Personal Care Home Benefit (PCHB) will rise by up to $400 a month, while SAID clients who live in personal care homes will get up to $684 more per month.
The Province has grown its investment in income assistance programs by almost 102 per cent since 2007.
