New labour force figures from Statistics Canada indicate continued strong job growth in Saskatchewan.
Last month, 5,600 hundred new jobs were created in the province compared to April of 2022, with all of the new jobs being full-time employment.
As well, major year-over years gains were reported last month, with a 22.3 per cent jump in professional, scientific and technical services, a 14.5 per cent increase in jobs in the resource sector, and a 2.7 per cent bump in employment in the health care and social assistance fields.
Meanwhile, Saskatchewan’s unemployment rate for April was 4.8 per cent, the second lowest rate in Canada, below the national unemployment rate of five per cent.
