SaskPower plans to spend 1.15-billion dollars in the 2023/24 fiscal year to modernize, grow and sustain the provincial electricity system.
The capital investment is an increase of 98-million dollars from the 2022/23 fiscal year, with a goal to ensure customers have the reliable, sustainable electricity they need.
Capital expenditures includes 505-million dollars in growth projects, including new investments in natural gas plants like the Great Plains Power Station and the planned Aspen Power Station, which will be located near Lanigan.
Other planned capital work includes transmission line upgrades to the Spiritwood, Prairie River and Hudson Bay substations.
