A provincial fire ban has been imposed by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), north of Highway 16, including all provincial parks, Crown lands, and the Northern Saskatchewan Administrative District.
The SPSA says the ban is effective immediately, due to hot, dry conditions and the extreme fire risk in most of northern Saskatchewan.
Please note that this ban includes any open fires, controlled burns, and fireworks.
At this time, the province says there are 28 wildfires burning across Saskatchewan, and for the latest information on municipal fire bans and fire risk maps, can be found at www.saskpublicsafety.ca.
