RCMP officers were involved in a shooting in Portage, which left one person dead.

Early this morning (Wed), Portage La Prairie RCMP officers were called to a domestic disturbance, and when they arrived they were confronted with a weapon.

Officers deployed their conducted energy weapons while one discharged a firearm, killing the 18-year-old male suspect from Portage.

One officer received minor injuries and the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has taken over the investigation.
