Two surgical records were set in Saskatchewan.
The province’s surgical system reached the highest quarterly surgical volume ever recorded, with a total of 24-thousand 306 procedures performed from January 1st to March 31st.
90-thousand surgical procedures were also done between April 1st, 2022 and March 31st, 2023, the highest ever recorded in Saskatchewan for a one year period.
During the 2023/24 fiscal year, the province is aiming to complete 103-thousand surgeries, with efforts to expand surgical capacity in both public surgical services and privately delivered centres.
