Three nurse practitioners will begin seeing patients in the Prairie Mountain Health region.

During the first week of June, Vicky Irwin will see clients at the Virden Medical Clinic and in Swan River, Jenny Ives will see clients at the Swan Valley Primary Care Centre, and Robin Catton will see clients at the Carberry Medical Centre.

Nurse Practitioners work independently, and provide several services including assessments and physical exams, prescribing medications and therapies, and order diagnostic tests.

As of June, the region will have 26 nurse practitioners providing service to 27 Prairie Mountain Health communities.
