A needs assessment for the Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson has been completed, and a need for more long-term care beds has been identified.
Early planning is underway, after the assessment noted the need for about seven more long-term care beds in Watson, which would raise the total number of such beds there from the current 53, to 60.
The next step in the planning process is to develop a business case to validate those bed numbers, based on cost estimates and other factors.
The Saskatchewan government earmarked one million dollars for the Watson Long-Term Care redevelopment project, in its 2023-24 budget.
