Sentencing has been handed down to a Piapot First Nation woman, found guilty of three charges stemming from a fatal vehicle/pedestrian collision in 2019.
47-year-old Leah Pratt appeared in Regina Court of King’s Bench yesterday (WED), where she received a 660-day conditional sentence, to be followed by 18 months probation.
She was also given a no-contact order, along with a seven-year driving prohibition, a ten-year firearm ban, and she must provide a DNA sample.
Southey RCMP were called to the scene of the incident in August of 2019, where a woman confirmed she had struck the victim with her vehicle, on a driveway at a home on the reserve.
33-year-old Nolan Sugar was pronounced dead at a Regina hospital.
