Punnichy RCMP have charged a Kawacatoose First Nation man in connection with a fatal collision late yesterday (THURS) afternoon, that claimed the life of a one-year-old boy from the George Gordon First Nation.
Mounties say it happened just before 6 p.m., when a vehicle struck the child and fled the scene.
The victim, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
33-year-old Mervin Poorman faces a pair of charges related to the incident, and he is described as being 6’3″ tall, weighing 300 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and several tattoos, including “Poorman” on his left forearm, and the “Browning” logo on his right hand.
Police are also still searching for the vehicle involved – a black 2008 Dodge quad-cab truck with Saskatchewan license plate 274-MNW.
