5.8-million dollars is going towards the inspection of nearly 97-thousand power poles in Saskatchewan.
SaskPower is conducting the work as part of its annual inspection and maintenance of power infrastructure.
The company will look for signs of decay, damage and carpenter ant infestation, while more than 82-hundred overhead transformers will be tested, and wildfire protection on 2-thousand poles will take place in high-risk areas.
Workers will be in the Fort Qu’Appelle district until the end of July, in the Yorkton district from July to October, and in the Canora district from July to September.
