A new development in the case of a 31-year-old man, charged in connection with an alleged assault.

Shane Knutson, of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation, had been arrested in April of last year.

He was released from custody in December, and appeared for a preliminary hearing yesterday (WED) in The Pas, where instead, the charges against him were stayed by the Crown Prosecutor.

On March 30, 2022, RCMP received a report of a 40-year-old OCN man who had been shot in The Pas, suffering serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
