Five charged in Yorkton drug bust

Charges have been laid against five people, stemming from a drug bust at two Yorkton residences on Friday (July 28), that led to the recovery of cash and cocaine.

As part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP executed search warrants at homes on Sixth Avenue North and Broadway Street West on Friday, which turned up approximately 94 grams of cocaine, and a large amount of cash.

33-year-old Orin Shepherd and 28-year-old Alison Wapash, both of Yorkton, along with three Edmonton residents – 19-year-old Abdi Nur, and two teenage boys face numerous charges.

Shepherd, Nur and the two male youths were in Yorkton Provincial Court yesterday (MON), and were remanded in custody for bail hearings on Thursday (Aug. 3).

Wapash will appear in Yorkton Court on September 9th.
