Education Minister Wayne Ewasko and Government Services Minister James Teitsma were among the dignitaries on hand for a groundbreaking ceremony today (TUES) in Swan River.

Work is officially underway on a new, 15-million-dollar multi-purpose room and performing arts addition at the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School.

The addition, when completed, will house a wide range of arts programming, from band, theatre and drama, to music and cultural performing arts.

It was also noted by the ministers, that the new space will integrate elements supporting Indigenous cultural performances.
