Highlights of Manitoba Crop Report for August 6, 2023

Manitoba growers are gearing up for harvest.

Manitoba Agriculture’s James Frey says the harvest of fall seeded crops, especially winter wheat and fall rye, is well underway, and close to 80% complete in the Dauphin and Swan Valley regions.

Frey also says some farmers have started applying pre harvest aids to spring cereals, with harvest of those crops to begin soon.

Frey notes that rainfall was extremely variable again last week, ranging from over an inch and a half at The Pas, to nothing at all in the Roblin area
