Yorkton City Council ratifies new four-year contract with firefighters

Yorkton City Council has unanimously ratified a new four-year contract with the city’s firefighters.
Fire Chief Trevor Morrissey says the new deal, which runs retroactively from January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2025, brings the city in line with other cities in the province.
The deal, which is retroactive to January 1, 2022, is in effect through December 31st, 2025, and includes annual wage increases of 2%, 2.25%, 3.5% and 3.75%, over the life of the contract.
