Guilty pleas have been entered by a Sioux Valley Dakota Nation man, arrested early New Year’s Day.
42-year-old Bruce Branth was sentenced to time already served in custody, followed by two years of supervised probation and a 10-year firearm ban.
On New Year’s Eve, Virden RCMP were called to a home on the reserve, about a man armed with a knife, threatening the residents of a home.
The suspect fled and barricaded himself in another home, before police gained entry and placed him under arrest.
