A local product has collected one of the major awards from the 2023 Western Canadian Baseball League season.
Russell, Manitoba’s Dawson Tweet was named the WCBL’s Most Outstanding Canadian after leading the league in hitting with a .411 batting average, 61 runs scored and 90 hits for the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
Tweet, also named the Express Most Valuable, also established a new league record hitting safely in 36 straight games.
Tweet just completed his first year with the William Jewell College Athletics in Liberty, Missouri.
