Jail time for woman convicted in February 2022 armed robbery in Swan River

One of two people who admitted to their roles in an armed robbery in Swan River, has learned their fate.

On February 14th, RCMP responded to a report of a robbery outside a business in Swan River, in which a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy claimed that a man wielding a hammer demanded money and items, and fled.

In October, 20-year-old Jefferson Cook and 39-year-old Loni Genaille were both remanded in custody after pleading guilty to Assault with a Weapon.

Cook is to be sentenced in March, but yesterday in Swan River, Genaille was sentenced to 690 days in prison, but with credit for time served, she’ll spend another 282 days in jail.

She was also given three-years of supervised probation upon her release, a lifetime weapon ban, and she must forfeit the seized items.
