A suspect is in custody, charged in connection with a violent incident on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.

At about 2:45 yesterday afternoon, Virden RCMP were called to a home on the reserve, on a report of an assault.

Inside the home, Mounties found a 55-year-old man with significant injuries, and he was taken to hospital, where he is in stable condition.

60-year-old John Robert Hall was arrested, and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
