Communities Receive Funding From Saskatchewan Government

The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $803,648.84 in 17 new municipal projects under the Targeted Sector Support Initiative.

TSS provides cost-shared grants to support community projects that help promote good governance and build capacity.

Among the communities involved are Melville, who received just over 48,000 for a Feasibility Study for a Portable Water Supply project, the Town of Watson got 100,000 towards a Regional Emergency Management Program; the Villiage of Stenen; and the Town of Rose Valley, which received money towards their Inter-Municipal Emergency Management Plan, The R.M. of Emerald got over 53,000 towards their Zoning and Building Bylaw project and finally, the R.M. of Montmartre received 6,500 towards and Development of a Combined Digital Safety Manual.

The grant funding covers up to 75 percent of eligible project costs.
