The Yorkton Business Improvement District (YBID) has secured the Painted Hand Community Development Corporation (PHCDC) as the naming sponsor for its Clean Sweep Winter program, furthering efforts to maintain a clean and accessible district.
Originating in 2011, the Clean Sweep initiative has evolved to include winter snow clearing operations, crucial for pedestrian safety and business accessibility. PHCDC’s support ensures the program’s continuation, alongside SaskAbilities’ dedicated workers who clear snow after each fall.
Despite challenges, including staffing issues in 2022, the collaborative effort underscores the commitment to Yorkton’s business district’s well-being. The YBID extends gratitude to PHCDC for its ongoing support, emphasizing community collaboration’s importance in keeping sidewalks clear and the district thriving.
