The Pink Shirt Day Discussion with James P. White

Our collective goal is to spread this message of solidarity to every corner of Canada. Together, we can make a difference. Remember, no one is alone in this fight against bullying.

Pink Shirt Day, an annual event observed on the last Wednesday of February in Canada, stands as a powerful testament to the importance of unity in combating bullying. Born out of an act of compassion in 2007, when two Nova Scotian high school students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, stood up against bullying by supporting a fellow student ridiculed for wearing a pink polo shirt, this day has grown into a nationwide movement symbolizing solidarity in the fight against bullying.

As someone deeply committed to this cause, I, James P. White, have dedicated myself to raising awareness and fostering acceptance. Since 2001, I’ve worked closely with the Canadian Half Pints, a Little Person Basketball team, conducting presentations on bullying prevention in schools across Canada. Through both in-person engagements and digital platforms, I’ve strived to advocate for inclusivity and compassion.

This year, on February 28, 2024, at 11 am MST, I am thrilled to announce our Pink Shirt Day livestream event, accessible to schools and homes nationwide. Under the theme “You Are Not Alone,” this livestream aims to empower individuals to take action against bullying and to seek support when needed. In partnership with Kids Help Phone, we offer a valuable resource for those who may require assistance.

Joining me on the panel are esteemed individuals who share our passion for eradicating bullying:

Host: James P. White, from #TheLOCKERROOM on 95.7 CRUZ FM in Edmonton

Co-host: Mariah Mae Harvard Media
