An RCMP Officer has been charged after an investigation in Dauphin.

On August 29th, 2023, an RCMP member observed a male driving dangerously at a high rate of speed on Provincial Trunk Highway 5 near Dauphin.

Mounties attempted to conduct a traffic stop but were unsuccessful.

After several near collisions, additional police units arrived and stopped the motorcycle.

After an investigation from the Independent Investigation Unit, RCMP Cpl, Kevin Challoner has been charged with failure to drive with due regard to safety contrary.

IIU states there will be no further comment.
